Biography

I currently hold the post of Professor of Integrative Physiology at the University of Glasgow. I originally graduated with a degree in Genetics (i.e. not a neuroendocrine start!) from the University of Nottingham before doing a PhD at the Roslin Institute/University of Edinburgh. It was here I began my neuroendocrine journey, as my PhD was on GnRH and pituitary function. I then completed a post Doc at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, the focus of which was the steroidogenic regulation of GnRH secretion. I then returned to the UK to the BBSRC funded Babraham Institute, where I continued to work on steroid regulation of GnRH secretion but expanded out to look at the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on the HPG axis. After ~3 years at Babraham, I moved to a lecturer position at the University of Glasgow where I have continued to investigate the regulation of GnRH, endocrine disruption of neuroendocrine system, the HPA axis and a few other side, less neuroendocrine project.
